Rev Sr Lucy Mary CIC was the third child of Mr Gnanathickam and Mrs
Gnanadeepam at Suranam.She had his primary education at Suranam, St
Mary’s school and later she joined in the congregation of the sisters of
Immaculate of Conception, following the footsteps of her paternal aunty, Albina
Mary. She served as a teacher in many schools, In the middle years of his
service, he was known for creating new convents at various places namely
Sundrnachiarpuram, Periapalayam , Chinnalapatti, Mullipady and Little mount,
Chennai.
Apart from all these things, she was known for the concern towards poor and
needy specially to the students of deprived and marginalized community
through the help of Sponsor Fernandez from France. She was acknowledged the
Amma of the Poor and downtrodden. She was simple and kind towards people
barring caste and religion as a true symbol of her parents who were loved by all
the people
